Mental and Metabolic Health and Wellness
Annie Silverwood MSN, FNP
Family Nurse Practitioner (she/her)
“In my previous work in primary and urgent care, I found that patient’s mental and physical health are inseparably linked, but mental health needs are not always prioritized. I decided I wanted to work in a practice where I could help people with both, which is what drew me to Owl and Eagle.
When people are struggling with their mental health, they don’t always have the energy or focus to engage in self-care behaviors like eating a healthy diet and exercising. In addition, psychiatric medications often cause weight gain and metabolic changes that can make maintaining health more difficult. I’m here to help!
I diagnose and treat depression, anxiety, and ADHD, and work with patients to implement good self care practices, so they can achieve their health and fitness goals. For patients who need to lose weight or improve their metabolic health, I employ the latest innovations in medical weight loss including weight loss medications, nutrition and exercise plans, and vitamins and supplements to help you reduce risk of disease and add quality years to your life.
Through counseling, I can help you identify and release beliefs that hold you back, and help you love yourself as you are, while you work to improve your health. My purpose is to provide individualized, highly motivating, compassionate care, to set you up for sustained success. With your commitment, we will develop a holistic treatment plan incorporating nutrition, lifestyle, and pharmacological interventions to help you improve your mental health and achieve optimal wellness."
Annie studied Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise with a concentration in Dietetics and earned her Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech Polytechnic Institute in 2011. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Queens University of Charlotte in 2011 and a Master of Science in Nursing from Duke University in 2015. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and has been a practicing Nurse Practitioner since 2016. In her free time, she enjoys live music, reading, yoga, meditation, hiking, gardening and everything the beautiful state of Colorado has to offer. She sees patients age 12 and older for depression, anxiety, ADHD, weight management, metabolic health conditions, and wellness care. She is accepting new patients and provides visits in person at our Denver and Golden locations and via telehealth throughout Colorado.
